Hyperion Executive Search’s Managing Partner David Hunt has been elected Chair of the Renewable Energy Association’s On-site Renewables Group.

David, who set up Hyperion in September last year, received the most votes among members of the Group. Kim McDermott Brown, UK Business Development and Operations Manager for Sun Investment Group, has been elected Vice-Chair, a position David had held previously.

David has become a leading figure in the renewables sector during the past seven years, spearheading a number of campaigns and becoming a regular commentator in the media.

He has developed in-depth knowledge of the various technologies – Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Heat Pumps, Wind Turbines and Biomass – and the challenges faced by installers, manufacturers and others operating in the sector.

As well as having previously been Vice-Chair of the REA’s On-site Renewables Group, during which time he represented the organisation at a number of important events including the Energy Solutions Show, he was also a member of the Parliamentary Renewable and Sustainable Energy Group (PRASEG).

He also sat on the Low Carbon Economy Board for the Liverpool City Region, the Energy and Environment steering group for the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, David has been a regular speaker at events including Microgen, GreenBuild, the launch of the Mini-Stern Report, Northwest Energy Forum and the Natural Environment Research Council.

David said: “I am honoured to have been elected Chair of the On-site Renewables Group. I am passionate about the renewables sector and look forward to representing the interests of the Group’s members.

“I will be using all of my experience and knowledge from the past seven years to represent our members and ensure that their voice is heard.”
